Manufacturers and die & mold shops can abolish chatter problems in countless milling operations with Iscar's new Chatterfree carbide endmill. The cutters' variable-pitch flute pattern annihilates harmonic vibration, the principal source of chatter. This enables faster cutting and finer finish in rough or finish slotting, shoulder milling and cavity milling. In addition, customers also report prolonged edge life due to reduced chatter. The chatter-free function is attainable in both solid carbide endmills and tips in Iscar's MULTI-MASTER replaceable-tip line. Diameter range is 6 to 20mm for the solid carbide endmills, and 8 to 20mm for MULTI-MASTER tips. These unique endmills are ideal for lower power machines with ISO40 or BT40 adaptations. The solid carbide variant can handle full slot machining up to 2xD. Depth capability on the replaceable-tip variant is more restrained since the active length is shorter. In full slotting operations on alloy steel, the solid carbide variant conveniently handles 0.03-0.05 feed rates at 180-220mm/min surface speed and 2xD depth of cut.
FINISHRED - Revolutionary Solid Carbide Endmills
Iscar is releasing the EFR.. B44 and the MM EFS.. Finishred a revolutionary solid carbide endmill family. The Finishred carbide endmill is a blend of both roughing and finishing endmills in a single tool. Roughing endmills remove material from work pieces more swiftly and efficiently than typical endmills. Yet, roughing endmills leave grooves on the machined surface. Hence, after using a roughing endmill, a finishing endmill must to be used in order to obtain a flat surface finish. This means time-consuming tool change, setup time and inevitably of maintaining two endmill types in the inventory.
Features of the Finishred Endmills:
The EFR.. B44 and the MM EFS.. endmills feature four flutes with 45 degree helix, two serrated flutes and 2 continuous flutes.
The cutting edges of the finishing flutes are radially farther from the tool axis than the cutting edges of the serrated flutes. The finishing flutes eliminate the grooves caused by the roughing flutes, leaving a fine surface finish.
The tool is fully capable and enables running at rough machining parameters, ending in finish surface quality.
The unique tool design diminishes vibration at high load applications.
The tool creates short and long chips simultaneously. This chip mixture is evacuated more efficiently than each individual chip type, an outstanding solution in slotting and cavity milling applications.
The Finishred is also offered with the Multi-Master indexable milling head option which couples the Finishred features with the benefit of little setup time, no regrinding costs and the wide range of shank and extension choices are available for the Multi-Master milling heads.
A single tool substitutes the roughing and finishing endmills; therefore lowering stock.
Tool change and setup time can be discarded.
An extra tool position is acquired on the machine
New Chip Splitting Solid Carbide Endmills for Elevated Metal Removal Rates
ISCAR is establishing the ECP-3/4L family of chip splitting endmills. The brand new endmills are attainable with three and 4 38 degree flutes in grade IC900. They feature 2xD and long shanks with diminished neck diameter, which enable machining along high shoulders, at high feeds. These endmills, due to their chip splitting function and force distribution can be used very efficiently on reduced power machines (CAT40/BT40/ISO40). The serrated cutting edge includes flat peaks which leave a better surface finish, in comparison to the current rougher carbide endmill. The ECP endmills are suggested for machining austenitic and martensitic stainless steel, at up to 2xD depth of cut. They can be used on alloyed steel as well. All of the preliminary tests conducted at numerous customers' locations showed extraordinary results.
Iscar Recently Made Public Many Brand New Lines To Increase Their Family Of Milling Tools Iscar recently released a new family of High Speed Milling adjustable endmills and facemills that will improve milling of aluminum, non-metallics, cast iron and hardened steel. This should prove especially useful in the automotive and aerospace industries.
A Couple Of The Countless Advancements In Carbide Inserts By Iscar Iscar is introducing a new unique milling system with tangential, clamped, butterfly-shaped LNKX carbide inserts. The butterfly-shaped insert has significant advantages compared to the current flat, square shapes. The new geometry has more cutting edges, positive rake face, reduced cutting forces resulting in higher performance.
