Tell a wedding organizer that you wish to have a cheap wedding day, and you'll immediately see her or him cringe. Yet that was exactly the position that I was in with my marriage. Fortunately, the wedding day planner with my own sister, but unfortunately, low priced meant very, very cheap. I was half tempted, to tell you the honest truth, to wait another year or 2 til I was on more secure economic footing, but it was very imperative to my bride to be to be married. We had decided that we wanted to spend the remainder of our lives together, and she wanted to make it official.
My idea was to have the most low-cost wedding day we could by solely getting married in the eyes of the state. We didn't need all the extravagant ceremony and country wedding songs to be married! You get a wedding day certificate, take a weekend trip, and have done with it. No gigantic dress, no guest list, no country wedding songs, no giant bills to pay. It would be lots more fun than having a gigantic problematic occasion with all of our friends & family, & it would only cost a few hundred dollars. She would not hear of it, however. She was willing to have low priced wedding decorations & a discount wedding day gown, but one way or the other she was getting married traditionally - country wedding songs and all.
There is nothing more unexciting than planning inexpensive weddings. You see, there is no miraculous cheap weddings trick. You need to simply save cash & everything that you can. The last one is easy assuming that you know someone with space which they will let you use. In my situation, we were able to use my parents back-yard & save a lot of money on leasing out a hall. Even so, everything else added up to quite a bit of cash.
The toughest part was picking out wedding day bridal dresses with my wife. For most of the arrangement, she was willing to use wedding day do it yourself tricks in an effort to save a bit of money here & there, but picking out her wedding dress was an absolutely horrible ordeal. In the end, we ultimately decided that that would be the one area of the wedding day where she could spend as much money as she needed to get what she wanted to wear. After all, there isn't any substituting for the perfect wedding dress.
