Chime Floor Clocks Add A Soothing Musical Quality To Your Home Or Workplace

Chocolate Truth eBook
Chime clocks are not, by far, a new type of creation-although there are more modern clocks classified as chime clocks that have recently been designed. The chime clock is a classic and gives a calming musical addition to your dwelling or workplace. I have researched out a few different types of chime clocks and here are some styles that I have observed:

There are mantel chime clocks that could be used as a mantelpiece, on top of a shelf, on a small or on a decorative table. Chime clocks are usually made from stained pine wood and, if they are well-maintained, will be with you for long after the purchase.

Some chime clocks are the larger type, such as floor chime clocks to be placed on the floor. They generally stand about six feet and a few have pendulums. There are more modern designs coming out for these floor clocks in which the pendulum is not just a hanging sphere, but perhaps shaped like an arrowhead or a swirl. I have even seen a few mantel chime clocks that had a straight pendulum in it. Nothing at the end--merely a straight, heavy, metal hanging piece.

Other larger, floor chime clocks do not have pendulums, a few of these chime clocks need a certain amount of winding that functions sort of like window blinds. With these chime clocks, you pull the chain so the hanging pieces (that suspend but are not pendulums) end up at the top of the clock--directly under the clock. The chains are lowered gradually as the clock keeps the time and last for about twelve hours before they need winding again. Some come with small pendulums which fall behind the chains--but a lot of them do not.

Most chime clocks cannot be found in ordinary stores, but must be searched for at specialty clock shops.

Numerous chime clocks are wall pieces ranging widely in size and shape. The wood is stained at times--but chime clocks comes painted, as well. There are various colors and designs--some would go perfect in the kitchen, a few in the den or living room, a few in the study and chime clocks may even give a classy and somewhat elegant look to your office.

Most chime clocks, however, are made from stained wood, some arching at the top, others flat on both top and bottom having a subtle design on the sides. Some are long and slender, while some are smaller and wide--there are several variations. No matter who you are and what your tastes are, you should be able to find a chime clock would go with your home or workplace.
