A Young Man Receives A "Drunk Driving" Arrest And Finally Decides To Hire A "Driving Under The Influence" Attorney

Chocolate Truth eBook
Although Franklin wasn't a lawyer, he told his son that he learned the hard way when as a young man he received a "driving under the influence" arrest, represented himself in court, paid four thousand dollars in penalties and fines, and served three months in the local city jail. As he mentioned to his son, after he got out of jail, he found out from a lawyer friend that if he would have hired a DWI lawyer in the first place, he more likely than not would have had his penalties and fines significantly reduced and he may have never served any time in the local city jail.

When Lawrence heard this he knew he needed more DUI facts and so he asked his dad for additional information about what a DWI lawyer can do in a "driving under the influence" arrest. His dad then articulated the following: "If you have been charged with DWI you need a DUI lawyer who will aggressively represent your legal rights through the complexities involved in a DUI case. DUI attorneys will be able to assist you every step of the way through the criminal process and help you find the answers you need."

When Lawrence listened to his dad explain this, it was as if his eyes were opened for the first time about the importance of hiring a DUI attorney. Near the end of their conversation, Lawrence said that he was beginning to comprehend more about "driving under the influence" laws and what "drunk driving" attorneys" can do for a person who has received a DWI arrest.

After getting "educated" about DUI arrests, the role of "driving under the influence" lawyers, and understanding that he didn't have to agree to take any field sobriety tests at the time of his arrest, Lawrence decided that he would without question hire a DWI lawyer to represent him in the local court. Something else, however, happened after he had talked to his father. Lawrence finally started to comprehend the serious nature of DUI arrests and, as a result, he came to a decision that from this point forward, he would always drink responsibly so that he would never again have to go through another DWI arrest.

His father smiled at Lawrence and told him the following: "son, it took me until I was fifty-five years old to realize what you just told me. I am really proud of you." This did wonders for his self esteem and so Lawrence thanked his father and then said, "if I can always drink in moderation, I will never have to hire a DUI attorney again!"

There was, however, one thing that neither Lawrence nor his dad thought about, namely, if Lawrence is exhibiting any alcohol abuse signs or perhaps if he is manifesting any of the common signs of alcoholism. In truth, if Lawrence is displaying any alcohol signs that point to alcohol abuse or alcohol addiction, he may need alcohol rehab.

In fact, Lawrence may be required by the court to get rehabilitation for his drinking behavior. The good news, however, is that whatever it takes to face his excessive and hazardous drinking, it appears that Lawrence will be motivated to do the "correct" thing.
