I bought the Soleus HGW308 model electrical heater that you can mount to your wall last year. The leading reason why I purchased this electric heater is because we moved into a house that does not have central heat and air. It also had absolutely no heat whatsoever anywhere, nothing previously installed.
I have two kids and as everyone knows space heaters are not good for kids to be around. So once I saw this wall mount heater I thought it will be perfect. I could install this high enough on the wall that little hands could not reach it. Well sadly that's the only good thing this type of wall mounted electrical heater is good for.
Though my kids didn't touch the heater and it did look so much better than any unit sitting on the floor, they also did not get hot enough. The heater does not put out the right amount of heat to warm a standard sized room. So I went out and bought a couple of of these wall mounted heaters. One for each kid's room.
I put them on the walls and hoped for the best. Their rooms only got a little warmer than the rooms without heat in them. Even with the doorways closed they needed to curl up in their blankets and the area felt cool. I don't think the room ever reached the set temperature or that the heater ever cut off as it never attained the set temperature.
So that isn't very Eco friendly, now is it? Obviously, I took both wall heaters back to the store. I bought the older version that goes on the floor. Even though they are unattractive they do work. Not long after I got central heat inside the house. Now my own house is cozy and toasty in the winter time, with the children snug safe in their beds. I do not recommend to get low cost wall mount heaters for your home, but instead go for high quality ones.
